Serving. Honoring. Inspiring. Nurturing. Encouraging.
A caring community for families facing the daily challenges of caring for and supporting a loved one with a disability.
"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you." Isaiah 60:1 (NIV)
As families in Christ our hearts and lives are transformed by special needs. We are committed to SERVING Christ and one another, HONORING the children, adults and families who face the daily challenges of disabilities with strength and faith, INSPIRING our brothers and sisters to experience joy in the Lord, NURTURING our walk with Christ, and ENCOURAGING families to support one another practically and prayerfully on this journey.
Families with Special Needs is a place to share your journey with others who understand the wide range of emotions that go along with being a family affected by disability. God's Word provides us with hope, encouragement, and inspiration as we journey together. We provide:
Life Study/Support Groups
Parents and caregivers meet at the Gaithersburg campus for a time of fellowship, teaching/bible study, and small group discussion and prayer.
Meets at the same time as the parents’ life study. Includes fellowship, games, and a Bible lesson. Limited space. Application required.
Hospitality & Resource Team
Our hospitality team supports families with hospital visits, care packages, meal calendars, birthday and anniversary cards. We also share resource and event information.
Families with Special Needs loves to celebrate. We hold several fellowship events a year, including Christmas parties for adults and children.
Interested in joining our volunteer team? Training is provided. No experience is required, but we welcome those with education, expertise, and training in special education, nursing or therapy.
