On Tuesday, January 12, 2010, Haiti experienced the largest disaster in the Western hemisphere in 200 years. There has been much devastation and thousands of lives have been lost. Please join us in praying for the people of Haiti and those on the front-line response teams. We are working closely with Samaritan’s Purse, and several other organizations and missionaries and have received the following information on the most effective ways to assist.
The first phase of aid in Haiti is referred to as the Emergency Phase, which includes distribution of water and survival kits, emergency medical assistance, and temporary shelter. During this time the biggest need is financial support. Your donations will go directly to the efforts of Samaritan’s Purse to help cover the costs of the Emergency Phase.
Below is a description of what your donation could accomplish:
$45 – Provides a survival kit for one family
$100 – Builds a temporary shelter for one family
$9,000 – Provides a water filtration system for 500 families
